Cervical  cause of neck pain often presents as a stiff neck. It is one of the most common causes of neck pain. Cervical degenerative disc disease is significantly less common than disc degeneration in the lumbar spine because the neck generally is subjected to far less torque and force.

Treatments for Cervical degenerative disc disease include:

Cervical facet joint arthritis (also known as arthropathy), is a common cause of neck pain due to degeneration and arthritis of this particular section of vertebrae. The pain associated with facet joint arthritis does not radiate down to the arms. Spondylosis, describes symptoms related to degenerative changes in the spine.  The term Spondylosis can be commonly used in place of the term facet joint arthritis, or facet arthropathy.

Treatments for Facet Joint Arthritis include:

Bulging discs develop when a deteriorated or weakened disc swells through a crevice in the spine and protrudes outside its normal housing.  This condition happens when a disc shifts out of its normal position, usually slowly and over a long period of time. As the disc shifts, its inner, liquid-like nucleus begins to bulge outward towards through the weakest point in its hard outer casing, causing discomfort and pain.

Treatments for a bulging disc include:

Individuals with this condition may experience problems with their coordination and balance, such as shuffling or tripping while walking. Cervical spinal stenosis can be debilitating if there is damage to the spinal cord. There is also a chance that patients may also experience loss of bowel or bladder control (also known as incontinence).

Treatments for Cervical spinal stenosis include:

Cervical Radicular Pain occurs when a nerve in the spinal canal around the neck is irritated. This condition commonly occurs when a nerve root is pinched by a bone spur or a herniated disc.  This condition can cause pain to radiate or shoot into the shoulder or hand.

Treatments for Cervical radicular pain include:

An intractable headache is a persistent headache that fails to respond to standard and/or aggressive treatment modalities. The most common types of intractable headache include chronic daily headache from transformed migraine, medication overuse headache, atlantoxial/atlanto-occipital dysfunction, benign intracranial hypertension, and post-traumatic or post-concussional headaches.
